Test Valley Tales

Test Valley Tales

Test Valley Tales celebrates the landscapes of our beautiful borough through folk tales and legends. Storyteller, Amanda Kane-Smith has bought these stories alive with a combination of re-imagining stories that already exist and creating new ones for the future.

An illustrated book of short stories and its associated storytelling podcast are due for release this Summer 2021.

TV Capsule

TV Capsule

In 1983, the people of Test Valley made a time capsule tapestry with thread, capturing a moment in the borough’s history for future generations. Now, nearly 40 years later in 2020, we’re doing it again, but this time, instead of thread, we’re using video to create a ‘digital’ tapestry.

It’s a similar idea – to weave together what makes us who we are – the things we care about, the people and places we care about. How will we look back at our lives in Test Valley today? What will we remember and what was most significant?

Visit https://www.tvcapsule.co.uk for full details, inspiration or to upload your film.

  • You’re invited to make a 2-3 minute film about your life in Test Valley
  • Films will be used to create a ‘Video Tapestry’ – a time capsule of today.
  • Anyone can take part, no special equipment is needed. Help is available.
  • The closing date for film submissions is 31st July 2021.

Finding Friends

Finding Friends is a community consultation project which aims to build bridges between cultures – including the voice of culturally diverse communities in the local cultural offering. By starting conversations we want to open doors for understanding & embracing new experiences.
