Test Valley Arts Foundation would like to thank Hampshire County Council, Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grants and Test Valley Borough Council for their support with our current projects.
Test Valley Tales
Test Valley Tales celebrates the landscapes of our beautiful borough through folk tales and legends. Storyteller, Amanda Kane-Smith has bought these stories alive with a combination of re-imagining stories that already exist and creating new ones for the future.
Test Valley Tales is an integrated project of three parts:
An illustrated book of short stories, a storytelling podcast and school storytelling workshops.
Make It Expressive
Make It Expressive is a project led by artist and educator Elizabeth Hammond.
Four days of creative workshops were held with students who have severe learning difficulties and staff from Icknield School in Andover and with residents with physical and learning difficulties and staff from Enham Trust in Andover.
Works produced during the workshops are to be displayed at The Lights Theatre in Andover between 27th Sept – 29th Oct 2021.
Finding Friends is a community consultation project which aims to build bridges between cultures – including the voice of culturally diverse communities in the local cultural offering. Led by creative consultation agency 21 Artists.
In 1983, the people of Test Valley made a time capsule tapestry with thread, capturing a moment in the borough’s history for future generations. Now, nearly 40 years later in 2020, we’re doing it again, but this time, instead of thread, we’re using video to create a ‘digital’ tapestry.
It’s a similar idea – to weave together what makes us who we are – the things we care about, the people and places we care about. How will we look back at our lives in Test Valley today? What will we remember and what was most significant?
